The workshops of the LGBT Family Coalition cover a diversity of themes and can be structured according to your needs. Amongst the themes that we can cover:
  • Sexual and gender diversity: what are we talking about? Key concepts.
  • What do we know about youth with LGBT parents? Survey of the scientific literature.
  • Obstacles and challenges on the terrain: strategies to support LGBT youth.
  • Working proactively: how to limit harassment and bullying related to sexual diversity and how to intervene when it does occur?
  • Motivating the school-team: how to navigate resistance?

The training session Family Diversity and Strategies to End Homophobia will sensitize educators working in elementary and high schools, as well as those working in youth-oriented community organizations, to the impact of homophobia.

This interactive workshop will help you to be better equipped to intervene when faced with homophobic or sexist incidents, and intimidation among elementary and high school students.

During the workshop, participants will receive information, strategies, practical examples and a vast array of tools to enable them and their workplace to promote change.
